Judge - QS Reimagine Education Award and Conference 2026
London, UK
In 2026, I was selected to serve as a Judge for the QS Reimagine Education Awards & Conference, contributing to the evaluation of emerging innovations shaping the future of education.
As part of the AI Innovation in Education judging community, I evaluate work from educators, researchers, institutions, and technology innovators developing new approaches to teaching, learning, assessment, student support, and AI-enabled education.
The appointment represents a significant intersection of my work across education technology, artificial intelligence, software architecture, cybersecurity, and responsible digital learning systems.
Evaluating Innovation Beyond the Idea
Meaningful educational innovation requires more than a compelling idea or impressive technology.
Strong solutions must demonstrate a clear educational need, credible implementation, measurable impact, responsible use of technology, and the potential to operate sustainably within real learning environments.
My evaluation considers areas such as:
- educational relevance and originality
- evidence of implementation and impact
- responsible application of artificial intelligence
- scalability and institutional sustainability
- learner and educator experience
- transparency and human oversight
- accessibility and broader educational value
- technical maturity and practical feasibility
This requires looking beyond what a system can do and examining whether it creates meaningful, responsible, and lasting value for education.
AI in Education Requires Responsible Innovation
Artificial intelligence is rapidly transforming tutoring, assessment, feedback, content creation, student support, analytics, and institutional operations.
The strongest innovations are not defined simply by how much AI they use.
They are distinguished by how effectively they combine intelligence with accountability, automation with human expertise, and innovation with measurable evidence.
This is particularly important in academic assessment and other high-impact educational environments, where transparency, trust, explainability, and meaningful human oversight remain essential.
A Global Perspective on Education Technology
Serving as a judge provides the opportunity to evaluate educational innovation across different institutional, technological, and geographic contexts.
Universities, schools, governments, researchers, and EdTech organizations operate under very different conditions. Infrastructure, regulation, resources, accessibility, digital readiness, and institutional culture can all determine whether an innovation succeeds beyond its initial implementation.
The experience reinforces an important principle in my work:
Successful educational technology must be designed around the realities of education—not around technology alone.
The most impactful solutions combine technical ambition with a deep understanding of the learners, educators, and institutions they are designed to serve.
Alignment With My Work
My involvement with QS Reimagine Education closely aligns with my broader work as an Education Technologist, Software Security Engineer, and Founder of FairMark AI.
At Washington University of Science and Technology, my work includes the architecture and development of secure, interconnected university systems spanning academic platforms, institutional applications, auditing technologies, authentication infrastructure, and AI-enabled services.
Through FairMark AI, I focus on improving transparency in academic assessment and exploring how responsible AI can make evaluation more understandable, evidence-aware, and useful for both students and educators.
My selection to evaluate the work of other innovators therefore connects directly with the field in which I build, research, and contribute.
From Building Innovation to Evaluating It
My involvement in international innovation began as a builder.
At the NASA International Space Apps Challenge 2022, I served as System Architect and Technical Lead of Team Diamonds, which became a global champion with Diamond in the Sky, an interactive learning experience designed to inspire children to explore space science.
Since then, my involvement has expanded from creating recognized technology projects to mentoring innovators and evaluating the work of others across international programs.
Serving as a Judge for QS Reimagine Education represents another important step in that progression.
What This Role Represents
For me, this appointment reflects a growing professional focus at the intersection of education, AI, security, software architecture, and responsible innovation.
The future of education will not be defined simply by increasingly powerful AI systems.
It will be shaped by the people and institutions that determine how those systems are designed, evaluated, governed, and trusted.
Serving as a Judge for the QS Reimagine Education Awards & Conference 2026 gives me the opportunity to contribute to that process by evaluating innovations that may influence how the next generation learns, teaches, and interacts with technology.
